Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) Doorways to Agriculture exhibit made learning about agriculture fun and engaging for students, teachers and fairgoers across the state through school tours and interactive displays at fairs this year.

More than 104,000 students and teachers visited Doorways to Ag school tours at nine events.

The traveling exhibit gives visitors an opportunity to step into the world of Texas agriculture and discover how farming and ranching influence their daily lives.

“Doorways to Agriculture brings Texas agriculture to life in a way that is both educational and engaging,” Kyndal King, TFB Outreach coordinator, said. “The exhibit encourages visitors to explore where their food, fiber and fuel comes from and learn how agriculture impacts their everyday lives.”

The exhibit made its rounds across Texas to 10 stock shows, including Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, Rodeo Austin, Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo, Buc Days, Tri-State Fair & Rodeo, Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo, State Fair of Texas and Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo.

During the school tours, teachers and students learned about agriculture through live demonstrations. Fairgoers were able to learn about agriculture through interactive touchscreen kiosks, oversized “books” packed with engaging content and a theater showcasing farm videos produced by TFB.

“The Doorways to Agriculture experience creates a fun and inviting environment for visitors of all ages to learn about agriculture,” King said. “From interactive games to walk-through trailers, the entire exhibit is designed to engage the public about Texas crops and livestock.”

The exhibit also featured lived commodity displays like shelling corn, processing wheat and a miniature model of a cotton gin.

This year, Doorways to Agriculture expanded with the addition of a new interactive trailer featuring displays, games and hands-on activities that highlight the significance of Texas farm and ranch families.

“Texas farmers and ranchers have an incredible story to tell, and Doorways to Agriculture helps share that story with consumers,” King said. “Every stop provides an opportunity to connect with consumers and their families and help build a greater understanding of Texas agriculture and the people behind it.”

The exhibit will once again be on display at stock shows January through May 2027. View the locations and learn more about Doorways to Agriculture at texasfarmbureau.org/youth/ag-in-the-community.
