Policy discussions, membership recognition and a weekend of fellowship are slated for the 91st Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Annual Meeting, which will be held Dec. 6-8 at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock.

“For 91 years, our members have stood together, united by a shared commitment to the values and traditions that define agriculture and rural life,” TFB President Russell Boening said.

Voting delegates from the 205 county Farm Bureaus across the state will work together to craft policy positions and prepare for the challenges agriculture faces.

“The business session is an important part of our annual meeting. It’s where our members address the needs of farmers, ranchers and rural communities through our grassroots policy development process,” Boening said. “Our policy discussions will look at ways to strengthen agriculture in our state and nation.”

Meeting activities
Members and county Farm Bureaus will be recognized for several awards, including Pioneer Awards and Communications Awards.

One county Farm Bureau will receive the coveted Golden Buckle Award. Counties will also be recognized for the County Activities of Excellence Awards.

The Young Farmer & Rancher Discussion Meet will be held during the meeting, and winners of the Outstanding Young Farmer & Rancher and Excellence in Agriculture contests will be named.

Additional awards and recognitions will be announced throughout the weekend.

Sessions
Four sessions open to all attendees will be hosted on Friday afternoon starting at 1 p.m.

A weather forecast, market and trade outlook and a farm bill update will provide attendees with information and trends for 2025.

The Young Farmer & Rancher Advisory Committee will host a Feeding the Future: Growing the Next Generation workshop. It will be focused on how to grow a strong county presence for young farmers and ranchers.

Family fun night
Members can participate in a safari-themed family fun night hosted by the YF&R Advisory Committee.

Festivities, including dancing and casino fun, will take place from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on Dec. 6.

Members are encouraged to come dressed in their best safari-chic to enter several best dressed contests.

Santa also will make an appearance during the evening.

Texas country music singer Kyle Park will headline Saturday night’s dinner and reception.
