The dove hunting season dates for the 2022-23 season in Texas were announced.

“This year, water is going to be key. Birds are going to be a lot more concentrated and a lot easier to hunt, I think,” Owen Fitzimmons, webless migratory game bird program leader for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), said in an interview with the Texas Farm Bureau Radio Network. “Key in on those water holes, and you’ll have plenty of birds coming in.”

A migratory game bird endorsement and HIP certification is required to hunt dove in Texas.
