Young farmers, ranchers, agricultural professionals and college students will get a look at agriculture in East Texas through the 2026 Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Young Farmer & Rancher (YF&R) Fall Tour.
It’s an opportunity for individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 to network, learn about agricultural in different regions of the state and connect with others involved in Texas agriculture.
This year’s tour is set for Sept. 11-13 in the East Texas Piney Woods and will highlight the diversity of agriculture in the area, as well as introduce participants to TFB’s YF&R activities and leadership opportunities.
“The Fall Tour gives young people the opportunity to step outside of their own operation and see agriculture from a different perspective,” said Ryan Yeatts, TFB YF&R Advisory Committee chair. “Every region of Texas agriculture is unique, and this tour helps participants build connections while learning how other producers and businesses operate.”
Tour stops will include Priefert Manufacturing, Stephen F. Austin State University, a logging operation and more.
Participants will learn more about East Texas forestry, livestock equipment manufacturing, higher education opportunities in agriculture and the region’s growing wine industry.
“Fall Tour is one of the best ways for young farmers and ranchers to build relationships with others who share a passion for agriculture,” Yeatts said. “Whether someone is actively farming, raising livestock, working in an ag-related career or still in college, the tour offers valuable experiences and conversations that can benefit them for years to come.”
There are registration packages participants may select from that will include lodging, meals, transportation and the cost of all tours. A registration package is available for those who do not require lodging.
County Farm Bureaus may help cover the cost of attending the event.
Interested members can learn more about registration costs and register for the tour online at texasfarmbureau.org/YFR.
