Another case of West Nile virus has been documented as Texas rains in May and June have made prime breeding habitat for a mosquito population explosion, reports NBC 5 – KXAS of Fort Worth.

The first Texas documented case of 2015 was a Harris County resident in May. Second case was confirmed in El Paso on Monday and now, the third case is reported in North Texas in Kaufman County.

Officials of these areas are beginning spraying schedules for mosquitoes. Residents are urged to take precautionary steps by draining stagnant water, to wear as much clothing as possible to reduce exposure and to avoid the time of day—dusk and dawn—that mosquitoes are most active.

In 2014, there were 379 human cases of the West Nile virus, including six deaths.
