The latest U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) crop report estimates soybean acreage has increased for 2015, reports Southwest Farm Press.

Soybean planted for 2015 is estimated at 85.1 million acres, a record high and up 2 percent compared to 2014.

The crop report also estimates planted acreage for cotton, wheat and corn declined compared to 2014. The largest decline of these three crops is cotton with a drop of 18 percent or 9 million acres. Upland cotton is estimated at 8.85 million acres, down 18 percent. American Pima planting is estimated at 148,000 acres, down 23 percent.

Corn dropped 2 percent at 88.9 million acres planted. Wheat is estimated to be down only 1 percent with 23.1 million acres planted for 2015.
