Texas hunters and anglers can now purchase their 2026-27 hunting and fishing licenses online and at retailers statewide.

Current single-year licenses, except the Year-from-Purchase All-Water Fishing Package, expire at the end of August.

Texas hunting and fishing licenses are available online through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) website, by calling 800-895-4248 during regular business hours or in person at more than 1,800 retailers across the state.

Resident hunters and anglers can choose from several digital license options, including the Super Combo, youth hunting and lifetime combo licenses, as well as hunting and fishing tags. Additional products, including the exempt angler tag and bonus red drum and spotted seatrout tags, also can be purchased online.

Updated identity verification rules are now in effect for Texas hunting and fishing license purchases to help prevent residency fraud and support TPWD law enforcement. Learn more on the TPWD website through the License ID Validation FAQ and Purchase Requirements pages.

TPWD offers fully digital options for recreational hunting, fishing and combination licenses and tag types.

Digital licenses can only be purchased online and will be accessible through the Texas Hunt & Fish and TPWD Outdoor Annual mobile apps.

Digital license holders are required to complete digital tagging through the Texas Hunt & Fish mobile app. Hunters and anglers who purchase digital licenses will not receive a printed license or physical tags and must keep their digital license available on a mobile device while in the field.

TPWD encourages returning customers to use the expedited checkout process when purchasing licenses to help speed up transactions.

A $5 administrative fee applies to online license purchases.
