The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices in Parmer and Bailey counties will conduct a Barley Crops Tour on June 5 near Muleshoe, according to AgriLife Today.

“This is one of the best small grains trials we’ve had in our counties for quite some time,” said Curtis Preston, AgriLife Extension agent in Bailey County. “We urge anyone interested in barley production to make a point to attend this program as it’s really worth viewing.”

Discussion of area barley agronomics and comparison of barley to wheat will be presented at the free event. It will begin at noon and include a meal. Two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be offered.
