U.S., China reach climate change agreement

U.S. and China presidents have announced both countries will curb their greenhouse gas emissions over the next two decades.

According to Agri-Pulse, the U.S. will cut its 2005 level of carbon emissions by 26-28 percent before the year 2030.

China, meanwhile, plans to peak its carbon emissions by 2030 and also aims to get 20 percent of its energy from zero-carbon emission sources by the same year.

Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) is calling for immediate congressional action, saying there is no longer an excuse for Congress to block action on climate change.
