Basics of pasture leases, weed management and other topics pertaining to beef cattle production will be the focus of the second annual Upper Gulf Coast Ranch Expo slated for May 13 in Simonton.

AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist Tiffany Dowell will explain the finer aspects of pasture leases, specifically the 12 terms that should be considered when signing a lease, according to AgriLife Today.

The event also will include a variety of bus tours, regulations and laws for hauling livestock and equipment, forage production, livestock lease agreements and sponsored booth exhibits, which will open at 7 a.m.

Private pesticide license holders can earn three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units—one laws and regulations, one integrated pest management and one general.

Cost is $10 by May 9, or $20 for on-site registration.
