Navarro County farmers and ranchers are urged to attend the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service (AgriLife) educational meeting of the new farm bill provisions on Oct. 1 in Frost.
AgriLife Today reports the meeting will explain general farm program provisions, covering Price Loss Coverage (PLC), Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and Livestock Forage Disaster (LFP). The presentation will also cover any base and yield update options available and illustrate the data needed to complete the decision-making process.
Presenters include Dr. Jason Johnson, AgriLife Extension economist, and Scott Reed, state commodity compliance program specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency.
The program is free and will run from 9 a.m. until noon. For more information, contact the Navarro County AgriLife office at navarro-tx@tamu.edu or call 903-654-3075.
