Twelve farmers, ranchers and agricultural professionals have been selected for Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) AgLead XVII class, a two-year leadership development program designed to cultivate the next generation of agricultural leaders.
AgLead provides participants with opportunities to strengthen their leadership and communication skills, deepen their understanding of agricultural policy and broaden their perspective on issues impacting agriculture.
The AgLead XVII class includes: Aaron Franks of Deaf Smith County, Andrew Edelen of Jim Wells County, Brennen Johnson of Hockley County, Justin Hale of Johnson County, Karissa Jones of McLennan County, Kelcey Kasper of Collin County, Kylie Kitten of Hale County, Macey Brown of Randall County, Mason Kleman of Castro County, Paul Hayes of Somervell County, Raley Kirk of San Saba County and Simmie Douglas of Anderson County.
“AgLead is about investing in people,” said McKenna Bush, TFB leadership coordinator. “These individuals represent the future of Texas agriculture, and this program will challenge them to grow personally and professionally.”
Throughout the program, participants will engage with industry experts, meet with business and government leaders and tour farms and agribusinesses.
Bush noted that the AgLead program continues to build on more than three decades of success in developing leaders who serve their communities, county Farm Bureaus and the state organization.
“Each class brings unique perspectives, new ideas and a shared passion for agriculture,” she said. “AgLead helps turn that passion into action, ensuring the voices of Texas farmers and ranchers remain strong for years to come.”
AgLead XVII sessions begin in February 2026 with orientation in Waco.
