Texas corn farmers can now guide efforts for their state checkoff and association, according to the Texas Corn Producers (TCP).

In an effort to seek corn farmers’ input on farm legislation, as well as other areas impacting farmers, corn growers have the opportunity to discuss the efforts and priorities of the Texas corn checkoff and association to better support their operations.

“We look forward to providing farmers a free meal and discuss issues and challenges impacting their farms,” TCP Executive Director David Gibson said. “Having this firsthand feedback is a crucial part of ensuring that TCP is representing and advocating for corn farmers in the best ways possible.”

Farmers can also expect to discuss a wide variety of topics covering:

  • Review and discussion of current farm bill
  • Outlook and discussion of needs for next farm bill
  • State checkoff and association activities and objectives
  • Regional concerns and issues
  • Involvement opportunities

“This is a crucial opportunity for us to receive the input and feedback we need to continue best supporting corn farmers across the state now and in the future,” Gibson said.

Gibson, along with other TCP staff, hopes farmers take advantage of this opportunity to share their voice.
