Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) Socks for a Cause campaign raised $3,120 to support the National Ag in the Classroom Organization.

“Each sock purchased helped open the classroom door to agriculture, connecting students with the farmers and ranchers behind their food, fiber and fuel. We are thankful for everyone who made a purchase to support agricultural literacy,” said Jordan Bartels, TFB associate director of Organization Division, Education and Outreach.

From Nov. 1, 2025 to Jan. 31, 2026, TFB encouraged individuals to step up for agricultural literacy by purchasing specially designed socks that highlighted the TFB brand and agricultural commodities.

The proceeds of the 624 pairs of socks sold directly benefit the National Ag in the Classroom Organization’s mission to provide educational resources to students and teachers nationwide.

“Every purchase helps bring agriculture to life for students and teachers in engaging and innovative ways,” Bartels said. ”This campaign was about more than socks. It’s an investment in stronger agricultural literacy programs in classrooms across Texas and the nation.”

As the Texas affiliate of the National Ag in the Classroom Organization, TFB benefits from the organization’s educational resources and programs, which are funded through donations and grants.

The Socks for a Cause campaign was an opportunity to give back and support a program that enhances agricultural education across the country and across our state, Bartels said.

“The funds raised will help National Ag in the Classroom continue its important work of cultivating agricultural literacy,” she said. “It’s inspiring to see so many people come together for this cause, and we’re proud to support an organization that helps us serve Texas teachers and students.”

The National Ag in the Classroom Organization provides teachers with curriculum, hands-on activities and professional development opportunities that integrate agriculture into everyday learning.
