Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) was recognized by the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) for member programs and achievements in 2022.

AFBF announced the recognition during the organization’s 104th annual convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

TFB was recognized for advocacy, coalitions and partnerships, engagement and outreach, and business and leader development.

“I’m proud of the work and achievements of our organization in 2022,” TFB President Russell Boening said. “It’s great to be recognized by AFBF for the programs and membership efforts we are undertaking as the Voice of Texas Agriculture.”

Programs that helped TFB earn the recognition include educational and urban outreach in schools and communities. TFB actively works to grow a deeper understanding of agriculture in classrooms and communities through Farm From School, Ag Literacy Week Book Program, the interactive Doorways to Agriculture exhibit and other outreach activities.

Leader development programs and communications activities, along with coalitions and partnerships with other organizations, were also among the efforts that helped TFB achieve recognition.

The organization sows the seeds of TFB’s future by growing leadership skills and agricultural advocacy through youth opportunities and leader development activities like Student Success Series, Young Farmer & Rancher program and the AgLead program.

TFB also shares the stories of Texas agriculture and members through social media, publications and broadcast media, adding volume, reach and depth to the Voice of Agriculture when communicating with various audiences.

“Texas Farm Bureau membership provides value and impact, which is why our organization has showed continuous growth for 22 consecutive years,” Boening said. “Each year, we look for ways to strengthen our programs and activities and continue to be a strong voice for Texas agriculture in schools, communities, legislative arenas and on digital platforms.”

TFB has grown from a small organization in 1933 to the largest and most influential farm and ranch organization in the state.
