Texas teachers have the chance to explore new ways to connect students with agriculture, thanks to Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) scholarships that support attendance at the 2026 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference.

The conference, set for June 23-26 in Providence, Rhode Island, helps K-12 educators discover creative ways to integrate agriculture into core subjects like reading, writing, math, science, social studies and nutrition.

Teachers will dive into hands-on sessions, visit farms and agribusinesses, and participate in discussions led by educators from across the country. They will return to their classrooms with new ideas, lesson plans and resources to make agriculture part of everyday learning.

“TFB is dedicated to providing professional development opportunities for teachers aiming to incorporate agriculture into their curriculum,” said Carson Read, TFB education coordinator. “This conference gives teachers a chance to connect, grow and bring fresh insights back to their students.”

The TFB scholarships help cover the conference registration fee, airfare or mileage (up to $700) to Rhode Island, as well meals up to $300, reimbursed upon conference attendance. Lodging is booked and provided by TFB.

“This opportunity not only supports teachers and their students but also helps strengthen agricultural literacy across Texas,” Read said. “If you know a teacher who’s passionate about connecting agriculture to the classroom, encourage them to apply.”

Applicants must be active K-12 teachers in a Texas school who have not previously attended the conference. Agricultural science teachers are not eligible.

The deadline to apply for the conference scholarships is Jan. 21. Teachers can apply online at texasfarmbureau.org/aitc.
