Texas Farm Bureau member and Sherman County farmer Wesley Spurlock was elected to serve as the National Corn Growers Association’s (NCGA) first vice president for the next fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1.
Spurlock and his wife, Susie, run a diverse farm in the Texas Panhandle.
“Wesley has been a dynamic figure in the Texas agricultural industry,” Texas Corn Producers (TCP) Executive Director David Gibson said. “His involvement at a local, state and national level gives him a unique perspective as he moves into this leadership position at a national level.”
On Oct. 1, current NCGA President Chip Bowling will become chairman, and the current first vice president Rob Elliott will become NCGA president. In 2016, Spurlock will become president, according to TCP.
