The Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Commodity Advisory Committees have new leadership tasked with focusing on regulatory topics to help carry out the organization’s policies and priorities.

TFB President Russell Boening recently appointed three new advisors and chairmen, as well as reappointed 22 advisors and chairmen to additional terms.

“These advisors and committee chairmen, along with the members of the committees, generally meet twice a year to discuss issues within their commodities and develop reports to provide additional insight and direction when current Farm Bureau policy doesn’t provide clear direction,” Boening said.

The chairmen are appointed to serve one-year terms beginning January 2017.

“The Commodity Advisory Committees are very important for Texas Farm Bureau. When unexpected policy issues arise within their commodity, they provide yet another opportunity for members to remain engaged and active in the organization,” said Gene Richardson, TFB’s director of Commodity and Regulatory Activities who oversees the committees.
