Funding is available for the Parallel Pathways to Success grant program, Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples recently announced. The program, which began in 2009, is designed to meet the workforce needs of rural Texas communities through the development of educational programs to provide workforce skills and job training.

As the Texas economy flourishes, the demand for skilled workers will continue to grow. Individual grant awards will range from $75,000 to $125,000. Grant applicants must match one dollar for every dollar requested, and they must demonstrate how their program will enable students to acquire skills needed to be competitive in the local workforce.

The deadline to submit applications is June 26, 2014. To learn more and download an application, click here. Call (512) 463-6908 or email grants@TexasAgriculture.gov with questions.
