Farmers are reminded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to file conservation certification mandated through the 2014 Farm Bill. The Highly Erodible Land Conservation and Wetland Conservation Certification (AD-1026) is required to be eligible for premium support paid under the federal crop insurance program.
Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said, “It’s important that farmers and ranchers taking the right steps to conserve valuable farm and natural resources have completed AD-1026 forms on file at their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office, according to the USDA.
Many FSA and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) programs require farmers file an AD-1026 form. Many farmers may already have the form on file, but if not, farmers must file by June 1, 2015.
The AD-1026 form was recently revised by the FSA and is available at USDA Service Centers and online at www.fsa.usda.gov.
