The Academy for Ranch Management will host a prescribed burn workshop Feb. 19-21 and an advanced workshop Mar. 5-7 in Sonora to allow interested farmers and ranchers the opportunity to learn how prescribed burns can play a role in effective rangeland management.
This course meets the educational requirements for the Certified and Insured Prescribed Burn Manager and the Farm Bureau Ag Advantage Program.
The workshop will include an overview of the history of fire, weather, planning a burn, fuels, fuel moisture and equipment. Cost for each course is $395, plus a $45 facilities fee.
