Pesticide applicator training set for July 31, Canyon

With the recent invasion of sugarcane aphids, South Texas grain sorghum farmers saw how pest infestation can damage their crops. Adding a private pesticide applicator license to the many hats of a farmer could save yields.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct a Pesticide Applicator Training from 9-11 a.m. July 31 in Canyon.

The training is the first required step for anyone interested in obtaining a private pesticide applicator license, according to AgriLife Today. A licensed holder is able to purchase pesticides and herbicide products not sold over the counter.

The training cost $10 and RSVP is required. Call 806-468-5543 before 5 p.m. July 29.
