Nebraska Farm Bureau established a Disaster Relief Fund through the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation to collect donations to support farm and ranch families and communities affected by the March wildfires.
The fires include one of the one of the largest wildfires in Nebraska history.
In total, four fires have burned more than 800,000 acres across the state, causing widespread damage and leaving many families facing significant loss and a long road to recovery.
The largest fire, the Morrill Fire, burned an estimated 642,000 acres across Keith, Arthur, Grant, Garden and Morrill counties.
Nebraska farmers and ranchers are working to assess losses and begin the long process of rebuilding.
Initial funding will focus on urgent needs such as feed, hay and fencing replacement. Efforts will remain flexible as additional needs emerge.
All funds raised through the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation will go directly toward wildfire recovery efforts. Every dollar donated will be distributed to support farmers, ranchers and rural communities affected by the disaster.
To provide donors with a tax-deductible giving option, contributions will be administered through the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. No administration fee is charged, and 100% of donations will support those affected.
Individuals and organizations interested in contributing can donate by visiting www.nefb.org/disaster.
Checks should be made payable to Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation with “Disaster Relief” noted in the memo line.
