Mahindra USA is offering a new scholarship program to high school students pursuing a college education in agriculture.

The scholarship program is specifically designed to support urban youth interested in pursuing a career in the agricultural industry. In a joint effort with the National FFA Organization, Mahindra will award five $2,500 merit-based scholarships to high school students from Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston or Indianapolis entering college in the fall of 2015, according to Mahindra USA.

Scholarship winners will be selected based on their commitment to pursuing an agricultural industry-related secondary degree, and their current passion and leadership in high school agriculture activities as well as academic performance.

Based on volume, Mahindra USA is the world’s number one selling tractor brand and supports youth to become future agriculture leaders, stating “it is vital that we continue to promote the consciousness of the farm to food connection in our next generation.”
