The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service (AgriLife) will conduct the Lower Rolling Plains Agricultural Conference for the farmers and ranchers of Borden, Fisher, Garza, Mitchell, Lynn, Nolan and Scurry counties April 1 in Snyder, according to AgriLife Today.

The conference runs 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and will address ag-related issues facing farmers and ranchers of the region. Topics for the morning session will include cotton and other commodity economics, disease management and laws and regulations.

Attendees may choose to attend one of the afternoon sessions. Session A presentations will consist of weed management strategies, soil nutrient management and alternative crops options and managing pests. Session B will include retirement income planning, Texas Quail Index update, weed and brush control, forage quality and external parasite management.

Five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be offered. Also, Worker Protection Standard training will be available free of charge for all farm workers and pesticide handlers.
