Texas-grown pumpkins are arriving in stores across the state to the delight of fall lovers everywhere.
Growers like Jason Pyle, owner of Pumpkin Pyle in Floydada, are about halfway through their annual harvest.
Pyle tells the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal this year’s harvest is average. It hasn’t been too wet or too dry.
This year, Pyle’s pumpkins have been selected to decorate the Dallas Arboretum’s Pumpkin Village. Over 25,000 of the colorful gourds will make up the fall display.
Pyle estimates that his harvest, which started Aug. 25, will continue through mid to late October.
