Texas teachers who are interested in exploring how agriculture can be integrated into their lesson plans are invited to attend this year’s Summer Ag Institute at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

The hands-on learning experience is set for June 9-13, but applications to attend this year’s institute are due to Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) by April 30.

Participating teachers explore entomology, soil science and plant science and how aspects of those areas can be applied to subjects like math, social studies and language arts. The teachers also will tour the carousel dairy at Tarleton.

Teachers who attend are eligible to earn 45 clock hours of professional development. County Farm Bureaus offer scholarships to teachers who apply.
