Numerous questions continue to surround genetically modified organisms (GMOs), according to a national survey conducted to identify top questions consumers have. GMO Answers, an initiative committed to creating conversations about GMOs and answering consumer questions, has been providing an answer each week to one of the top 10 questions discovered through the survey.

“We found that the number one top question concerned long-term health,” said GMO Answers spokesperson Cathleen Enright. Eight out of 10 respondents wanted to know if GMOs are linked to cancer.

Independent experts help GMO Answers tackle the consumer questions, providing correct information and examples of farmers’ and ranchers’ commitment to the provision of safe food, according to American Farm Bureau Federation’s Newsline.

So far, six of the top 10 questions have been answered on www.GMOAnswers.com.
