The film for people who eat will make its way to the South Plains in a few days. Farmland, a documentary by award-winning director James Moll, will debut at Alamo Drafthouse in Lubbock on Sunday, June 1, and Wednesday, June 4.
The film follows the lives of six young American farmers and ranchers as they work to grow food and fiber for American families. Brad Bellah, a sixth generation cattle rancher from Throckmorton, Texas, is featured along with his family.
Tickets for the film are $9 each and can be purchased online at http://drafthouse.com/movies/farmland/lubbock.
Farmland was made with the support of the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance (USFRA). The organization expects the film to be added to Internet streaming sites, like Netflix, later this summer or in the early fall. It will also soon be available on DVD.
