El Niño is expected to return to the Peruvian coast this fall, and some experts say that will be good for U.S. crop production. According to Drovers Cattle Network, there’s a 70 percent chance the trend, which is the warming of sea temperatures off the coast of Peru, will return.
Jay O’Neil, a Kansas State University economist, reports that the return of El Niño could be good for U.S. farmers as it brings extra rain and moisture to crop-growing areas.
While the U.S. is expected to fair well due to the trend, other countries may see harsher conditions.
