As we step further into fall, things are drying out across much of the Lone Star State.
The latest Water Weekly report from the Texas Water Development Board indicates that 30 percent of the state is now experiencing drought conditions. While most of the state is abnormally dry, parts of East Texas are now experiencing extreme drought.
Statewide, reservoir levels declined for the tenth week in a row. Despite the decline, approximately 80 percent of reservoirs are full. Last year this time, only 64 percent were full.
Most reservoirs in West Texas continue to struggle with below normal levels.
Drought conditions are predicted to improve as we move into what is expected to be a wetter-than-normal winter.
