Drought-like conditions are all-too familiar for Texans, and the most recent dry spell won’t soon be forgotten. But the drought of 2011-2014 wasn’t the worst on record, according to TWDB. The agency plotted the five worst droughts in the Edwards Plateau Climatic Division, showing that dry spell would have needed to last more than three years longer to rival the length of the 1950s drought.
