A cool-season forage field day is set for April 1 in Denton County.

The event, hosted by the Denton County AgriLife Extension Service, will discuss the pros and cons of utilizing cool-season forages in cattle operations. Dr. Jason Banta, AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist in Overton, will present the results of a cool-season ryegrass demonstration as a teaching tool to help ranchers understand the dynamics of forage—grasses or legumes.

Registration is $15, which includes educational materials and a meal. Those wishing to attend should RSVP by March 31. For more information and to RSVP, call (940) 349-2894.
