Consumers rated the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) as the most trustworthy source of information regarding meat and livestock, according to the Oklahoma State University Food Demand Survey.

The online survey randomly listed 15 sources of information, including Tyson Foods and the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF), to track consumer preferences and sentiments on the safety, quality and price of food consumed. The sample size included at least 1,000 individuals.

Respondents rated AFBF above the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and the New York Times. McDonald’s and Chipotle Mexican Grill were listed as the least trustworthy sources.
