The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service (AgriLife) will host the 12th Concho Valley Cotton Conference from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 24 in San Angelo, according to AgriLife Today.
Topics during the morning educational session will include: road safety for farm-related equipment; updates on cotton markets; the biology, damage and management of the sugarcane aphid; phytotoxicity of flutriafol for control of cotton root rot; and verticillium impact on fiber quality and seed treatments.
A keynote luncheon by Reece Langley, National Cotton Council vice president for Washington Operations, Washington, D.C., will precede the afternoon session with the following topics: impact of low rates of 2,4-D on cotton yield and quality; chemical drift and its liability; and growing sesame.
Preregistration is free and includes the noon meal and snacks. Participants must preregister by the March 18 deadline, otherwise individual registration becomes $20.
