Anyone with an interest in wheat and/or vegetable production is encouraged to attend the Combined Wheat and Vegetable Field Day slated for April 23 in Uvalde.
The free event will cover the following topics: irrigation management for wheat, physiological traits and wheat performance in the Wintergarden Region, winter and spring wheat variety performance in South Texas, drought tolerance and water use efficiency in wheat and wheat breeding. Field day participants will travel to nearby wheat and vegetable plots for part of the day’s activities.
Individuals with private pesticide applicator licenses can earn two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units—one integrated pest management and one general.
