Within the next few months, Cargill hopes to finalize its purchase of Brazilian cattle feed producer Integral Animal Nutrition.
The transaction, according to Cargill, will allow the company to expand in Brazil and further develop its Free Choice Mineral and pre-mix capabilities.
“Our customers are at the forefront of everything we do, and I’m thrilled to partner with a company that has more than 31 years experience and a strong reputation for quality products and services in Brazil,” Scott Ainslie, vice president and groups director of Cargill Animal Nutrition, said.
As part of the acquisition, Cargill will acquire all of Integral Animal Nutrition’s assets, including a production plant, a portfolio of products such as minerals and premixes, about 100 employees and a net revenue of $25 million annually.
The company was founded in 1986 and currently serves feedlots and ranchers in midwest Brazil.
Integral Animal Nutrition is enthused about joining the Cargill family, according to Integral CEO Paulo Mendonca Del’Acqua. He said the acquisition will help the company continue to develop and grow the feed business.
“It is important to us that we continue to build upon our commitments to achieve high sustainable products and service quality for our consumers,” Mendonca Del’Acqua said.
The transaction is expected to be complete within the next few months, pending the necessary regulatory approvals.
Cargill officials say the acquisition will not affect the operation of its plants already operating in Brazil.
Cargill Animal Nutrition has more than 275 facilities in 40 countries across the globe. It offers a range of compound feed, prefixes, feed additives, supply chain and risk management solutions and more.
