The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) began accepting applications on June 30 for its Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP).
“This program is particularly helpful in regions of the country suffering from drought, where the removal of dead or diseased forestry residues can reduce the threat of forest fires while generating renewable energy,” said FSA Administrator Val Dolcini.
The biomass must be delivered to FSA-approved biomass conversion facilities to be eligible for the retrieval incentives. Click here for a list of approved facilities and for more information on BCAP.
