Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Wilson County Farm Bureau will present the Wilson County Fall Beef Cattle Education program on Sept. 17 in Floresville.
AgriLife Today reports the program will address key issues related with the future of the cattle industry and recovery from the extensive depopulation of herds due to drought. AgriLife specialists Dr. Rick Machen will present “Beef 2025: The Next 10 Years,” and Dr. Robert Lyons will give a presentation on “Stocking Rate: The Key to Grazing Distribution and Forage Preference.”
Registration starts at 6 p.m. with the program to begin at 6:40 p.m. One general category Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education unit can be earned by attending the program.
The program is free, but RSVP by Sept. 16 to the Wilson County Farm Bureau Office at 830-393-2481 or the AgriLife Extension office for Wilson County at 830-393-7357.
