After 35 years with Texas Farm Bureau, most of it as corporate secretary, Marcia Bales will retire at the end of June.
“Marcia has been a valuable member of the TFB Senior Management team, serving two presidents and two executive directors,” said TFB Executive Director/COO Si Cook. “Her job was not always visible. She worked behind the scenes but everyone understands the importance of her role.”
Marcia plans to have a lot more time for her grandchildren, and looks forward to continuing her life as a farm wife to her working farmer husband, Don.
“I have been so fortunate to work for such an amazing organization,” Marcia says. “TFB’s management has always been tops in my book and I know that will continue.”
Marcia reflects on the tremendous changes in agriculture, technology and Farm Bureau during her remarkable career. “The tools we work with are so much more sophisticated now, but our employees have always worked hard for our members.
“I’ve seen Farm Bureau’s influence grow so much,” she recalls. “We have become a powerhouse in Texas and it is so gratifying to have been a part of that.”
Marcia says she will always be a Farm Bureau member. She looks forward to a life on the farm and spending more time with her family.
“Marcia will be missed,” Si said. “We wish her all the best.”
