Educators can apply for grants to purchase agricultural literacy resources from the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s store.
The Christina Sue Lija Resource Grants, formerly known as the White-Reinhardt Resource Grants, are open to K-12 teachers to help more students gain access to accurate information about agriculture.
“Increasing agricultural literacy and awareness in the classroom is essential to grow informed consumers, and teachers can take advantage of these grants to do just that,” said Jordan Bartels, Texas Farm Bureau associate director of Organization, Educational Outreach.
Grants are available on a competitive basis, and all educators may apply.
For 2022, the national organization noted 85 educators will receive $100 store credits.
“The application process is simple, and the grants could help Texas teachers of all content areas find engaging resources to help provide accurate information about agriculture to their students,” Bartels said. “We encourage Texas teachers to apply for these grants and bring agriculture to life in classrooms across the state.”
Applications must be submitted by June 30.
The winners will be notified by July 16 and will have 30 days to make purchases from the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s store. Guidelines for the purchases will be made available from the national organization.

Texas teachers can also participate in Texas Farm Bureau’s Summer Ag Academies to learn more about incorporating agriculture in the classroom through interactive lessons. The Summer Ag Academies are set for July 7 in Brenham, July 12 in Stephenville and July 21 in Canyon. Registration closes two weeks prior to each event.
