Early season rains in Texas have both helped and hindered crops.

Growing conditions for crops are good to excellent throughout the Lone Star State, but are also conducive to weeds. Crops and weeds compete for soil and its nutrients

Soil moisture, rangeland, pasture, crop and livestock conditions are good across much of Texas because of recent rains. Most stock-water tanks, ponds and creeks have good water levels.

Far West Texas hasn’t received much rain and remains hot, muggy and dry. Pastures declined with no new growth. Some ranchers have to give supplemental feed to livestock. Some burn bans are in effect. There was some hail damage in the Panhandle, but no fields were a total loss.
