2025 Constitutional Amendment Election
Texas Farm Bureau encourages you to VOTE FOR
Prop 1: Long-term Funding for Texas State Technical College
- The future of Texas depends on a skilled workforce to keep our economy going.
- Prop 1 will provide a permanent investment of $850 million to Texas State Technical College to build, repair, and expand training facilities.
- This is a one-time investment of dollars already in the state budget. This IS NOT a new tax.
- Without these facilities, TSTC can’t train the skilled labor needed in Texas—electricians, mechanics, medical technicians, welders, etc.
Prop 4: Providing Water for Texas
- Texas needs $154 billion in water infrastructure completed by 2070, or there won’t be enough water.
- Prop 4 dedicates $1 billion each year to finance water and wastewater projects.
- This dedication is only if Texas has surplus sales tax revenue each year and will end in 2047.
- Prop 4 will not fund groundwater export projects taking water from rural Texas.
- Texas Water Fund cannot be used to take land for reservoirs.
Prop 5: Tax Exemption for Livestock Feed
- Taxing livestock feed is taxing our food.
- Livestock feed at the feed store is assessed a property tax.
- This tax is passed on to ranchers and livestock owners, which increases the cost to grow our food.
- Prop 5 exempts livestock feed from the property tax.
Prop 13: Reducing School Property Taxes
- Homeowners need relief from ever-increasing school property taxes.
- Prop 13 will raise the homestead exemption from $100,000 to $140,000.
