The importance of agricultural trade and current and future farm policy will be discussed at the 2017 Texas Plant Protection Conference Dec. 5-6.

- The importance of agricultural trade on the U.S. economy by Dr. Luis Ribera, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service economist and director of the Center for North American Studies at Texas A&M University
- U.S. ag economics-farm bill weathering uncertainties in Texas agriculture through science and technology by Dr. Bart Fischer, deputy staff director and chief economist with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture
- Pesticide regulations by Beau Greenwood, executive vice president of Governments Relations and Public Affairs, CropLife America
- Ag credit update by Mark Miller, Texas Farm Credit chief executive officer in Robstown
- Update on new cotton technology by Dr. Peter Dotray, AgriLife Extension weed specialist in Lubbock
- Flag the Technology by Ray Smith, chairman of the Texas Plant Protection Association
A number of presentations will feature current issues facing grain and rangelands throughout the two-day conference.
