Through social media, farmers have the opportunity to share information to positively promote agriculture and communicate directly with other farmers, customers and consumers. To highlight those farmers who utilize social media, Food, Nutrition & Science has launched the first Social Media Farmer of the Year Award.
The leading trade publication for food is now accepting nominations. Farmers can nominate themselves or a colleague until March 31 at http://www.foodnutritionscience.com/2014award/. The applications will be evaluated by a panel of global business, media and food and farming leaders.
The Social Media Farmer of the Year Award also is sponsored by AgChat Foundation, AgWired.com, Bolthouse Farms, Monsanto and the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives.
