Texas Animal Health Commission’s (TAHC) video encourages hunters to schedule inspection for any deer or exotic hoofed stock (Nilgai antelope, for example) taken from areas under cattle tick quarantine.
“It is a violation of the law to transport a deer or hoofed stock from any cattle fever quarantine area without an inspection,” says Clint Sturrock, TAHC compliance investigator.
Hunters should call the TAHC hotline (956) 254-3507 to schedule an investigation. For more information, hunters may check the TAHC website.
“Help protect Texas livestock,” Sturrock says.
