Six students received the 2026 Jana Middleton Memorial Scholarship from Texas Farm Bureau (TFB).
Each student received a $500 scholarship, for a total of $3,000 awarded through TFB’s scholarship program.
The recipients are:
- Chayce Campbell, District 2, Hale County
- Kaden Gordillo, District 4, Tarrant County
- Makaylie Williams, District 8, Coryell County
- Kaylee Abercrombie, District 9, Hardin County
- Cooper LeBlanc, District 9, Houston County
- Ben Reitan, District 9, Rusk County
The scholarship honors Middleton, a former TFB field representative in the Texas Panhandle who passed away in April 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She spent 19 years with TFB and left a lasting impact on countless youth and Farm Bureau members across the state. She was especially passionate about TFB youth programs and encouraging young people to get involved in agriculture and Farm Bureau.
“Jana had a heart for TFB youth programs and for making every student feel welcome and encouraged,” Dr. Clarissa Darby, TFB Youth Outreach coordinator, said. “Her legacy continues through this scholarship and the students who carry that same passion for agriculture into their future careers.”
Middleton was instrumental in youth programs like TFB’s Student Success Series that helps young students grow in agriculture and leadership.
TFB established the memorial scholarship to continue Middleton’s commitment to supporting the next generation.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have completed all four programs available through TFB’s Student Success Series.
