Baylor County youth and other members of the community are invited to a special education and awareness program on rattlesnakes presented by Peyton’s Project and the 4-H office of the Baylor County AgriLife Extension Service.
The program is March 29 at 7 p.m. in Seymour at the Baylor County Extension office, 500 N. Main Street. Free hot dogs, potato salad and drinks will be served at 6:30 p.m.
The mission of Peyton’s Project is to educate the public on the reality and danger of the Western Diamondback rattlesnake and provide resources to support related medical advancement. In 2010, Peyton Alexandra Hood, nearly two years old, was bitten on the ankle by a newborn Western Diamondback rattlesnake and died five hours later in Fort Worth.
