After a refreshing 11-week break, parts of the Lone Star State are once again facing drought conditions.
According to the Texas Water Development Board’s (TWDB) Water Weekly report, 4 percent of the state is suffering from moderate drought conditions. The TWDB also reports abnormally dry conditions in the state have jumped from 12 percent to 45 percent this week.
Texas is faring much better compared to this time last year when drought conditions were at 43 percent, according to the TWDB.
Projections show drought conditions improving in Central Texas by the end of May but with lingering spots in the Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi area.
