Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is researching the prices that custom agricultural operations charge.
Categories that fall in these custom rates are “assigned for activities done on the farm ranging from harvesting operations to planning,” according to AgriLife Today. Other activities included are tractor rental, hay baling, fertilizer application, planting and land preparation.
The survey is voluntary, but it will give a baseline of statewide rates. This will help AgriLife answer questions about custom-hire agricultural activities, according to AgriLife Economist Dr. Steven Klose.
